Wicks, wick. Oh good, it gaves your candy shakes
They looked back and he gave you your card and it shakes
It didn’t do much wrong, it came here to give
It gave you a top with every scratch
It looked too much back at the times that it was there
And it gave up for no good reason
It seems like I just have to tell like 15, so many people
The problems, the problems
And there’s sometimes it felt so brutal
But it’s like you can’t tell 15 people the same problem or then they start to get tired
They start to take heed
They start to realize that you’re all they need
And it’s like “who said that really in the first place?”
Why would you even want that?
I’ll tell you why: I told you that lie
I like this album, especially for the message that it brings that is really powerful and in line with what happened nowadays. The title and the whole album refers to the Black Lives Matter (red summer refers to the summer of 1919 where white supremacists committed a lot of homicide against black community in USA). The whole album speaks about this, with a lot of reference to historical events (e.g.: 20th August 1619 is the date when the first black slaves were deported in USA). losfastidios
each track uses the fact that its digital hardcore in its own unique way each time, rarely sounding similar to the other despite generally being noisy and in your face. i find this to be especially helped by Machine Girl's usage of unique samples or their own voices, which i can barely understand but honestly it really adds to the charm and aesthetic of this release. i know this album is 7 years old at the time of writing this, but it still holds up incredibly well.
